Gallery

The gallery was founded in 2001 and since then has been run by Wojciech Fibak. It is located in the 18th century outhouse of the Czapski’s Palace (currently the building of the Academy of Fine Arts) on 5, Krakowskie Przedmieście in Warsaw. From the very beginning it intensively made its presence on the art market felt by developing relations with, among others, I. Büchner or Program Gallery - which now is an autonomous exhibition centre.

The value of the collection as well as the location by Trakt Królewski, at the intersection of the main cultural routes of Warsaw, made it become in a very short time one of the most important places of exhibiting post-war Polish pieces of art. The good spirit of the Academy of Fine Arts supported the appearance of the pieces by not only recognized artists, such as T. Kantor, J. Lebenstein, W. Fangor, S. Gierowski, but also young generation of painters who were at the beginning of their artistic route.

The idea of perceiving art as the best showpiece and ambassador of Poland has determined the activity of Wojciech Fibak for years. The creation of the Gallery made it possible for him to promote and present modern Polish art to a wider circle of audience, both in and outside the country. Individual artists’ exhibitions as well as well as theme exhibitions organized by recognized museum institutions all over the world show the acknowledgment of the collector’s choices of the founder of the Gallery. The collection is a living organism which is the subject to continuous modification. Systematically increased by new objects it makes the Gallery continually interesting and surprising place
