Dominik Tadeusz

A painter and graphic designer.
He was born in 1928 in Szymanów. Between 1945-51 he studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, he received his diploma in 1953 at professor Jan Cybis atelier. In 1951 he started working at the same school where he got a full professor’s degree (1988). He was awarded Jan Cybis prize (1973) as well as the Ford Foundation Scholarship (1962). He made his debut in 1951 at the VII Fine Arts Exhibition in Radom. His first individual exhibitions was in Zachęta in 1957. He made his debut abroad at the XXVIII Biennale in Venice in 1956 with the series of wood engravings “Maternity”. His works of art are exhibited at the National Museums in Warsaw, Cracow, Poznań, Wrocław, Szczecin as well as at the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
