He was born in Warsaw in 1948. He comes from an aristocratic family - his father, Józef Korolkiewicz, was a painter, among others portraitist, landscapist and the creator of genre scenes. Starting from the experience of a neo-figurative and photo-realism he created his own formula of hyper-realistic painting. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw between 1965-71. He got his diploma at Stefan Gierowski’s atelier. In 1980 he started working at his parent school; since 1996, as a professor, he has run his own painting studio at the Faculty of Industrial Design.
